What Are You Waiting For?

This Sunday, between the Feast of the Ascension and Pentecost, Fr. Nareg reflected on the powerful moment in the Book of Acts when the angels ask the disciples: “Why do you stand looking up toward heaven?” Through humor, personal stories, and pastoral insight, he reminded the faithful that the Church is not merely an institution frozen in time, but a living movement called to “go and make disciples.” Drawing from the recent hosting of the Eastern Prelacy National Representative Assembly at St. Sarkis Armenian Apostolic Church, Der Nareg shared how visitors experienced the warmth, hospitality, engagement, and spirit of the parish community. He emphasized that making disciples happens not only through preaching, but through love, service, invitation, and participation in the life of the Church. As the Church prepares for Pentecost, this sermon is a reminder that God does not call us to stand still and watch; He calls us to move, invite, serve, and become part of His living mission in the world.
