Following the church service on Sunday, October 26th, parishioners were greeted with a visual treat as they entered the main hall—a showcase of recent artwork by our beloved Mr. Karnig Alajajian. Attendees enjoyed viewing seventeen acrylic paintings,
depicting a variety of subjects and beautifully captured moments in time. Mr. Alajajian’s works are alive with movement and emotion—from Jesus and his disciples battling a storm at sea, to a serene Catskills winter, to the energy of a sailing race.
During his lecture presentation entitled "The Journey of Art from Cave Walls to Canvas," Mr. Alajajian discussed the evolution of painting across different eras highlighting some of his favorite well-known artists. He shared his artistic vision and perspective, stating “Painting is more than color on canvas. It is a window into the mind and heart of the artist, a reflection of culture and imagination. Each style reveals a philosophy and shows us to see the world in a new way.”
Guests enjoyed viewing the exhibited pieces and attending the short presentation. Mr. Alajajian’s artwork was made available for purchase, and he will generously be contributing fifty percent of the proceeds to the church.
