Who Are You in the Nativity Story?
Merry Christmas!
On this holy feast of the Nativity and Theophany, we gather to reflect on the Gospel account of the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ through the lens of the Three Wise Men.
In this sermon, Fr. Nareg invites us to enter the Nativity story and ask a deeply personal question: Who am I in this story? Am I like King Herod, consumed by fear and insecurity? Am I like the priests and scribes, rich in knowledge yet spiritually stagnant? Or am I like the Wise Men; curious, searching, willing to follow the signs that lead to Christ?
Drawing from the Gospel of Matthew, this message highlights the power of spiritual curiosity, the humility to bow down and worship, and the courage to change direction once we encounter Christ.
The Wise Men teach us that true faith does not end with knowledge, but leads to worship, transformation, and a new way of life.
As we also celebrate the Blessing of the Water, we are reminded that Nativity and Epiphany are not only events of the past, but living realities; Christ desires to be born within us, to renew us, and to lead us on a different path. May this sermon inspire you to seek, to worship, and to embrace the new life Christ offers.
