Confidence Before God Begins with Humility

On this 5th Sunday of Advent, we reflect on what it truly means to approach God with confidence.

Drawing from St. Paul’s Letter to the Hebrews and Jesus’ parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector, this sermon explores how humility, not self-righteousness, opens our hearts to God’s grace.

Through a relatable reflection on authority, self-examination, and even our tendency to project our flaws onto others, we are reminded that confidence before God does not come from being “good enough,” but from approaching Him with faith, trusting in His mercy and justice.

As we journey toward the Nativity of Christ, this message invites us to move beyond the noise of cultural celebrations and make room for spiritual renewal, growth, and transformation.

When we humble ourselves before God, we lose nothing but gain everything.

“Approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” (Hebrews 4:16)

Join us in prayer, reflection, and preparation as we continue our Advent journey together.
