Facing Life’s Storms: Faith, Trust, and Grace

In this sermon, Fr. Nareg Terterian reflects on the powerful story from the Gospel of Mark where Jesus calms the storm. Just as the disciples wrestled with fear and doubt in the midst of chaos, we too encounter storms—unexpected trials, senseless tragedies, and the quiet suffering that shakes our faith.

Drawing from personal experiences and today’s challenges, Fr. Nareg explores:

  • The boat as a symbol of the Church—our vessel through life’s journey.

  • How the early Christian community, under persecution, wrestled with God’s seeming silence.

  • The reality of evil: both the hardships beyond our control and the suffering caused by human choices.

  • The deeper truth that in the midst of pain, God reveals His grace—not simply making us stronger, but reminding us that His presence is greater than any storm.

Two timeless questions frame this message:
Where is your faith?
Who is Jesus in your life?

As we confront the chaos of our world, may we discover the One who speaks peace to the wind and waves, and learn to trust Him even when the storm rages.
