Discovering Our Christian Identity | Sermon by Fr. Nareg Terterian (St. Sarkis Church – August 24, 2025)
In this week’s sermon, Fr. Nareg Terterian reflects on St. Paul’s words to the Corinthians: “For we are the temple of the living God… I will be their God, and they shall be my people” (2 Corinthians 6:16–7:1).
Fr. Nareg reminds us that God dwells among us, calling us to embrace a new identity as His sons and daughters. He highlights three essential foundations of living our Christian identity:
-
Worship – More than knowledge, worship is the living expression of faith that shapes our hearts and humbles our souls before God.
-
Living the Teachings – Following the Gospel means practicing integrity, forgiveness, love of neighbor, and the virtue ethics of the Church in our daily lives.
-
Making Disciples – Christianity is “the Path,” and we are called to invite others—through words, witness, and example—to walk with us on this journey of faith.
This message is both a challenge and an encouragement: to worship faithfully, live authentically, and share our faith joyfully.
