This past Sunday after the Divine Liturgy, the Suzanne and Hovsep Hagopian Saturday School had their annual Christmas hantes. This year the hantes was held in the sanctuary so the whole community could enjoy it after church service. Mary, holding the baby Jesus, Joseph, and the three wise men first entered the church while Soorp Keesher was sung. The students were lined up in their Sunday best and sang their hearts out. They sang all their favorite Christmas songs and got the guests in the Christmas spirit. They also recited traditional Armenian Christmas poems and finished off with Jingle Bells in Armenian. All those in the congregation chimed in with the children as this song puts a smile on everyone’s face no matter if you’re young and old.
Afterwards all in attendance were invited to have some light refreshments and socialize downstairs in the main hall. It was beautiful to see the children having fun while the parents, grandparents and friends caught up with each other. We are so grateful to our Saturday School staff for working hard to put this beautiful program together and so grateful to have our ever-growing Saturday School family. Merry Christmas and Peace to all in the New Year 2026!
