On Friday, November 7th, the St. Sarkis Salt & Light Youth Group gathered for their third and final session of the Fall Season. We had a wonderful turnout of junior and senior members who gathered that evening to learn, together with their facilitators, about the third and final portion of The Nicene Creed. As usual, the evening started with all our kids and facilitators eating a delicious meal, prepared lovingly by two of our facilitators, Arpi Bezdikian and Lena Felice. After the meal, the breakout groups dispersed to delve into the lesson plan for the evening. The lesson focused on the final part of the Creed, "The Holy Spirit, the Church and the World to Come". Through a carefully laid out lesson plan, the youth were guided through discussions that emphasized that the Holy Spirit is not an abstract force but a living presence which lives through the life of the Church, guiding. inspiring and strengthening its members to live out their faith authentically. It also emphasized the Church as a community of faith where Christians can grow in faith together and not in isolation. Upon the conclusion of the breakout discussions, all the facilitators and youth gathered together in the Sanctuary to pray the Creed together a few times. A special thank you to our facilitator Veh Bezdikian for leading our Senior group in Der Hayr's absence this session and also to our Deacons Michael Gostanian, Razmig Nenejian, Raffi Nenejian and John Megerian for leading the group in the Sanctuary.
We look forward to seeing all our youth group members and their families at our Annual Family Christmas Party on Friday, December 12th at St. Sarkis Church.
