It underscores the benefits of brain plasticity, stress reduction, emotional resilience, and its potential to create social bonds and instill a sense of accomplishment. Despite common concerns like lack of time or talent, the piece argues that the personal growth and joy from engaging with music outweigh these hurdles. It encourages embracing music-making as a life-enriching practice. |

Paintball Outing For Altar ServersLast Saturday, the altar servers went paintball shooting in Calverton NY. There were about 20 young adults, a few deacons, and our beloved Der Nareg, who participated to show his support. The cold weather did not stop the boys from having a great time and an exciting day with their friends. The atmosphere was filled with joy and laughter! Of course, they all attended church the following day to ask for forgiveness for taking aim at Der Hayr. After the event we all met at a nearby eatery to have a bite and talk about the fun memories we all created as a St. Sarkis family.
Der Nareg and the board of trustees were generous enough to cover the cost of this event as a token of appreciation in hopes that they will be the next generation to take St. Sarkis Church to the next level.

Suzanne and Hovsep Hagopian Saturday School Capital Improvement Project
Dear Parents, The Suzanne and Hovsep Hagopian Saturday School of St. Sarkis Church is excited to announce that we have been awarded a $10,500 grant from the Armenian Youth Foundation (AYF) for the school’s capital improvements. The Foundation’s mission is to preserve Armenian heritage by proudly supporting various youth programs. Since 1973, it has awarded over $780,000 in grants to over 20 organizations and Armenian schools. With this grant award, we completed much-needed capital improvements to the school facilities, including installing new flooring, painting the walls, and purchasing new window blinds. The construction efforts were completed in time for the launch of the new school year in September. We have already seen the positive impact of these improvements in fostering a more inspiring learning environment. We are very appreciative of the Armenian Youth Foundation's support of our mission. I also extend my heartfelt gratitude to all our parents, staff, and volunteers for entrusting us with the privilege of providing a productive and nurturing Armenian educational experience for your children. Thanks to your support, enrollment in our Saturday School, Parent & Me, and post-graduate Armenian studies programs has doubled from prior years.
