Suzanne & Hovsep Hagopian Saturday School
Dear Parents,
We hope you all have been enjoying your time off from school and spending quality time with friends and family during these last weeks of summer. As September grows closer, we are all feeling extremely excited to open the school doors to our students after a very long hiatus.
Picking up the pieces after a long break due to covid-19 has been slightly challenging, but with the collaborative efforts from the educational committee, staff, PTA, and parents, we are beginning to see the pieces come together and a clearer vision of what the 2021-2022 school year will look like.
Over the past couple months we have been working towards ensuring an easy transition for our students as they have not been in our classrooms since March 2020. We have ordered new books and met with our staff to make sure the curriculum is ready and tailored to meet our students’ abilities. We have taken into consideration that our students have not had formal, in-person Armenian language instruction for some time and would like to ease them into the process with as much encouragement and support as we can.
As September 18th nears on the calendar we are busy tying up the loose ends and working with the educational committee to open our school doors to in-person learning as safely and responsibly as we can. With CDC guidelines as our compass, we realize that this situation is fluid and ever-changing, however, we will always make educated decisions and put the safety of our students, staff, and community before anything else. This will be the first of many updates before school opens on the 18th and we look forward to beginning this journey with you all.
As always, please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions. We are always open to hearing from our parents.
Stay safe and healthy,
Nayiry and Aleene
